Contemporary woman – active woman.Pain disorders and quality of life assessment of women undertaken regular physical activity

Introduction. A contemporary woman in her everyday life, has to accept many various challenges as: realization of her own educational or vocational ambitions and organization of a familial life. All factors mentioned above have a huge impact on the quality of life. The contemporary woman undertakes more and more activities on various fields of life, also in health and beauty extent. One of the examples is realization of a regular physical activity, which affects not only the motor organs, but it also helps to improve self-esteem, mood and motivation. The factors are decisive in relation with the quality of life. The purpose of the research was the estimation of the life quality and the level of everyday physical activity in the group of women, who take part in workout classes in fitness clubs. The aim was also the estimation of the pain occurrence while regular training. Reference and methods. The research included 118 women in the age range of 25-60 (x=38,25 ±9.83) undertaken the physical activity in fitness clubs in Silesia. Basing on the level of physical activity the interviewed were divided into the two groups: the basic group and the control group. The basic group (named A) was additionally divided with regard to the age range of 25 to 45 and group B: the age range of 46-60. The control group C was created by 31 women in the age range of 25 to 49, who have not undertaken physical activity at all. As s research tool used the personal questionnaire, containing the questions about the undertaken activity, the state of health, the level of pain, the quality of life etc. The query was grounded o SF-36 questionnaire. Results. Women from basic groups undertaken physical activity average three times a week, from 2 to 12 months. Before starting trainings about 73% of women from group A complained about pain, and 65,6% of group B and 80,64% in the control group C. The average level of pain in group A before undertaking the regular physical activity was 4,67 (±2,95 ) points in the VAS, and during the regular attendance 0,69 (± 0,95). Values ??for group B were as follows: 3,52 (± 2,99) points in the VAS before and 0,31 (±0,69) points during the regular workout. Conclusion. The regular physical activity has the advantageous impact on the life quality, as well as on state of health, self – esteem and common diminution of the health discomforts (especially the various pains of motor organs).
