Clinical effects of electric fields stimulation on bone treatement – own experiences

A progress in treatment of the bone tissue lesions is observed. Nevertheless a disturbed regrowth or false joint sometimes develop. These unsuccessful courses forced clinicians to analyze deeply the processes of a correct, physiological regrowth and to search for new methods of treatment in regrowth’s disorders. Various novel methods of stabilization, adjuvant treatment and stimulation were thus invented. Studies on regrowth stimulation began in our clinic on an animal model in 2003. After gaining positive results another set of test started in humans. Patients of the Orthopedic Clinic in Sosnowiec were given electric stimulation for enhancement of bone union.
