Transpedicular screws are frequently used in spinal stabilizations. The expanding scope of their applications, elicits the need to improve them in terms of ease of implantation and confidence of their stabilizing functions. The solution is a new technology in the form of SGL - Self Guided Lock. It allows the introduction of screws in difficult, less-invasive surgical approaches, controls the installation and locking of the rod on screw’s head. Biomechanical studies and comparative with other used screws showed a higher acceptability of SGL system. Preclinical validation of the installation procedure, confirmed clinically, demonstrated the high utility quality.
