Introduction. The aim of the study was an evaluation of changes in individual spheres of the quality of life of patients with coxarthrosis before and 6 weeks after the hip arthroplasty. Material and methods. The research material was a group of 50 patients. In the examination was used the questionnaire form based on the Questionnaire of the SF-36 quality of life. Also an evaluation of the passive movement in hip joints and linear measurements of lower limbs were performed. Results. In examining the quality of life of 6 weeks after the treatment with reference to the preoperative period, the biggest positive change was written down in the sphere of emotional functioning and in the reduction in the perception of pain. 6 weeks after the operation improvement of quality of life in all assessed spheres was observed. Conclusions. Also such parameters underwent the improvement as: the scope of the movement, the circumference and the length of the limb.
